A Xinmin weekly report mentions a strategic partnership between blockchain company VeChain and Renji Hospital (affiliated with Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine). It says they launched the MyBaby smart medical care project, which is the world’s first “blockchain-based in vitro fertilization (IVF) service application.”
The combination of DNV’s professional services and VeChain’s advanced blockchain technology has enabled the project to provide verification of the most important stages of IVF. In addition, MyBaby provides private, exclusive, and end-to-end data access for prospective parents who undergo treatment. The report says that the project actively facilitates the seamless transfer of embryo culture image data to patients through the online hospital platform, with the unique file code stored on the VeChain blockchain.
MyBaby allows users to view, extract, label, and score fertilized eggs coupled with the cultivation and preservation of embryos. In this way, concerns about medical data privacy are reduced by limiting the number of intermediaries between data production and delivery.
