Behind declines for shares of Home Depot and American Express, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down Thursday morning. Shares of Home Depot
and American Express
are contributing to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow
was most recently trading 276 points, or 0.8%, lower. Home Depot’s shares are down $10.87, or 3.4%, while those of American Express are down $4.74 (3.2%), combining for an approximately 103-point drag on the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the decline are Caterpillar
A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.59-point swing.
