A driver from Milton faces several charges after crashing into a pond just north of Brampton.

Caledon OPP say the 29-year-old driver went off the road just after 3 a.m. this morning (Nov. 25) near Highway 410 and Valleywood Blvd. in Caledon, just north of the Brampton border.

Emergency crews from both Brampton and Caledon were called to the scene around 3:21 a.m. where they found the vehicle in the pond.

“The water rescue team searched the pond and area around the car and an Ontario Provincial Police K9 dog searched the surrounding area,” a Brampton Fire spokesperson told inhalton.com. “There were no injuries and the driver was located safely at home. Tow trucks removed the car from the water.”

Subsequently a Milton resident has been charged with four Highway Traffic Act crimes and driving suspension.

The name of the person charged has not been released by police.
