A racist slur and swastika were spray-painted on a fence in an Oakville neighbourhood.

Halton Regional Police say they are investigating the “hateful and racist” vandalism left on two occasions on a wood-fence located on the northwest corner of East Gate Crescent.

Police say there were notified on Saturday (Oct. 22) of the hateful graffiti and messages, which have since been removed and are no longer on the fence.

The police investigation has revealed that the suspect(s) first vandalized the fence sometime recently before Oct. 19  and then a second time between Oct. 19 and Oct. 21.

Anyone with information regarding this vandalism is asked to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2216.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or through their website at www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
