A water main break has cut off water to numerous Niagara-on-the-Lake (NotL) residents tonight and repairs aren’t expected to be complete until tomorrow.

The town announced the break via Twitter shortly before 7 p.m. on October 19. They reported a main had busted near Read Rd. cutting off water to nearby homes. The area is just across the Niagara River from St. Catharines and minutes south of the Lake Ontario shore.

NotL reported that they are working with the city of St. Catharines to fix the break as soon as possible, but note the repairs will take into the following day.

The cause of the broken water main remains unknown as yet. The town has not commented on how many residents are affected.
