Milton youth who are interested in getting their certification in babysitting will have an opportunity to do so next month.
The course, which is being hosted by SOS 4 Kids Inc., is taking place on Nov. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church, located at 123 Main St. East.
It aims to empower youth and provide them with the confidence and skills required to care for both themselves and for other children.
The course, which costs $84.75 per person, will cover the management of challenging behaviours and essential content on leadership and professional conduct.
Participants will learn how to care for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children.
Additionally, they will learn problem-solving and decision-making skills for emergencies, strategies for creating a safe environment and preventing injuries, communication, basic business skills and more.
Those attending are being asked to bring a doll or teddy bear to the class and to bring a nut-free lunch and snacks.
