.Michigan Democratic lawmaker’s staff has become first U.S. congressional office to form union.

Staffers for Democratic Rep. Andy Levin of Michigan have become the first office to unionize in the history of the U.S. Congress, said the Congressional Workers Union in a tweet on Monday. Levin, a former union organizer, earlier this year backed a resolution to grant congressional staff the right to organize and bargain collectively.
